Job description

Sky Unlimited Inc. is seeking a skilled Pre-Press Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team in the art department of our commercial printing company. This position involves the creation, editing, and preparation of customer-submitted artwork to ensure compatibility with a diverse range of print methods. The successful candidate will collaborate with other members of the art department and production team to deliver high-quality and accurate results for customer orders. This is a direct hire position through Sky Unlimited, Inc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Artwork Preparation: Prepare and modify customer-provided artwork for various print methods, ensuring it meets quality standards and technical requirements. Produce, correct, preflight and output files for production processes.

  • Quality Control: Maintain template consistency and file quality for print and digital media.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the art department, customer service department, and production team to coordinate and execute print jobs efficiently.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of artwork to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and adherence to printing specifications.

  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and customers to address inquiries and ensure a smooth workflow.

  • File Structure: Ensure consistency of database information, file structure and archiving.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve potential issues related to artwork, print methods, or production processes to meet project deadlines.

  • Brand Management: Produce internal pieces that maintain the creative integrity of the approved concept

  • Any other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE:

  • Graphic Design Skills: Proficient in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) with a keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.

  • Pre-Press Expertise: Experience in pre-press processes, including file preparation, color management, and print production.

  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.

$20.00 – $35.00 per hour
